Patient Experiences

Great MD Experience

May 21, 2013 I saw Dr. Fochios 2 times and he took the time to not only explain what was wrong with me, but show me. He sat down with me and was able to show me what my MRI looked like. Even though he couldn't help me and had to send me to another doctor, it was nice to know that he was upfront with me that he couldn't do it, and just didn't go in for surgery and try to fix it. He called around and found the best doctor for me to go to to fix this problem. Its nice for a doctor to be so honest and make you feel welcomed in his office. Please keep him around! I will recommend him to anyone that needs orthopedic services, and will come back to him for my carpal tunnel!  ~ Jesse Mageske

Awesome ER Staff

April 19, 2013.  Just want to say thank you to the awesome ER staff that took care of my daughter this mornings. She was having issues with her Crohns and they got right on it. I also want to say a special thank you to Dr Ramsey. He was awesome and caring as always. More Drs should be like him.

Exceptional Nursing

Friday, 3/15/13. I called for help with a prescription problem that Dr. Koontz had called into the pharmacy. It was after hours, 6:15 pm, when I called and got Beth, the charge nurse. She took the time to listen and was very understanding and sympathetic to my problem. My wife needed this pain medication to get through the weekend until her appt with a spinal surgeon at UW on Monday. She tracked down Dr. Koontz making his rounds and called me back so I could pick up the written prescription at the hospital that evening. Beth could have told me that it was the weekend and to go to ER, etc. but she took the time to help. I did not get to meet her personally but am in her debt.     ~ Robert Doyle

A Soft Touch Makes all the Difference

On 2/13/13, my 2 year old son Corbin had a Meatotamy performed by Dr. Richards. I am writing this letter to make you aware of our experience at RAMC. Dr. Richards was very professional, and all the nurses were thorough, kind and considerate. I wanted to give extra praise to our anesthesiologist Kevin. Words can not say how thankful I am for his service. He was so wonderful with my son, who had to have general anesthesia for the procedure. Kevin spoke to my son very soft and calm, and was crouched down right to his level. Kevin brought Corbin in his mask to look at and touch, and even "scented" it up a bit for him. I feel that the way Kevin handled this situation made all the difference in that my son was not scared to be put to sleep. Thank you Kevin, from the bottom of my heart, for the wonderful way you deal with children!

Physical Therapy Provides Thoughtful Care

2/8/2013 ~ I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to RAMC's Physical Therapy department for the help and care that I received. I know that I would not be where I am in my recovery with out the thoughtful care that I received from this department.

Celebrating Christmas with Twins!

Pam and Tyrone Puttkamer had twin girls on 12-21-12. They were very happy to be able to have their babies at Reedsburg Area Medical Center and were thrilled to have Dr. Chris Wenninger at their side for the birth of Madeline and Allison. Pictured here is Dr. Chris Wenninger with mom, Pam, and the girls at their first follow-up visit.

Thankful for Caring ER Staff!

Just wanted to say thank you to Dr Anderson and the awesome ER staff again for getting my daughter Emily through her migraine on December 19th, 2012. It's tough having Crohns but to also have migraines is a double whammy. I am so thankful we have such a caring group of people there.

Thiel Family Pleased with Birth Center Care

Krystle and Nathan Thiel were proud to announce the birth of baby #4, Baby Audrey. Audrey was born on 11/12/12 in RAMC's Birth Center and joins her 3 sisters, Claire, age 5, Daryn, age 4 and Elise, age 2.

Krystle shared how impressed she and Nathan were with the pre-birth conferences offered as part of the Birth Center services. These are done during the 3rd trimester for all women who plan to deliver at RAMC. During this scheduled conference, a Birth Center nurse completes the mother’s health history, discusses family preferences for an enjoyable birthing experience and answers any questions there may be. Krystle said she felt well informed and was very pleased that their preferences and plan for Audrey’s birth were followed and resulted in a great experience.
