RAMC's Rehab Department is proud of their reputation for providing great services, due in part to having skilled therapists as well as the wonderful facilities. Speech Therapy experienced a great increase in their pediatric caseload because of their reputation with providers, families and their dedication to and success with their patients. With seeing more and more children, we also identified an increased demand for Occupational Therapy services for children in our community who experience self-care, fine motor and sensory regulation limitations. We found the current therapy space in Rehab did not meet the needs of the growing pediatric population that we serve and the existing space did not allow for expansion of services in a safe or efficient manner. Thanks to the RAMC Foundation, we were able to create a brand new, expanded space with an open floor plan to treat our pediatric population.
The new, pediatric rehabilitation space includes:
* A private treatment space for children that need a quiet area and limited stimulation
* An office with 3 rehabilitation therapist stations
* A bank of storage cabinets for LOTS of toys
* A centrally located ceiling swing that can be used with a variety of types of swings including a platform swing (pictured), hammock swing, sling swing, and bolster swing
* A climbing wall (in background of photo)
* Small kids tables and chairs for seated activities
* A small trampoline
* Scooters, scooter ramp, steamroller, barrel, sensory table, and monster blocks
Thank you for your support shown to the RAMC Foundation and your commitment to quality healthcare in our community!
