Splash into Friday the 13th!
I wanted to deliver my baby by waterbirth, and was fortunate to be able to have some amazing support to help me! Big sister Reese was at my side the entire way, giving her mama support and encouragement. Deb Adams, nurse midwife, as well as the Birth Center nursing staff was there to help too. Dr. Nesseim honored my requests and desires for labor and delivery. At 9:12 pm on Friday, September 13th, Redding Michael was delivered into the water!
My labor and delivery was fast and furious, and a little surreal, but also the most amazing experience I've ever had in my life! Not only was I strong enough to have the delivery experience that I desired, I also had the most amazing support team surrounding me! My daughter Reese was included during the whole process. She couldn't be more proud to be a big sister!
I received the best care during a time when I was most vulnerable. Thank you to the entire RAMC Birth Center staff for giving me and my family such a wonderful birthing experience! I couldn't imagine having a baby anywhere else!

RAMC Birth Center is proud to support and offer waterbirth as an option for low-risk women. Delivering in the water is a gentle way to deliver your baby, going from water to water and then into mother's arms. Warm water immersion has been shown to promote relaxation and aid in comfort. The weightlessness of the water allows for easier movement and position changes in the tub. Women who are low-risk without any contraindications are candidates for waterbirth. If you are considering waterbirth, talk with your healthcare provider. They can help you determine if this is an option for you. Call the Birth Center at 768-6251 if you would like more information, or if you would like to see our special waterbirth tub.
