This week is Pulmonary Rehab week! This week celebrates pulmonary rehab programs and the staff who administer them. It highlights the importance of rehabilitation and the impact it has on the lives of those living with chronic pulmonary illness that severely hampers lung function and activities of daily living. Pulmonary rehab helps those patients manage a wide range of illnesses including COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, restrictive lung disease, sarcoidosis, and interstitial lung disease to name a few. Pulmonary rehab helps patients improve strength, endurance, reduce symptoms, improve quality of life, and makes it easier for patients to carry out activities of daily living and social activities through exercise, education and support.
