Reedsburg Area Medical Center Birth Center recently received a meaningful donation from the non-profit organization Wherever You May Romy. The organization provided care totes designed for parents whose babies require transfer to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The nearest NICU for RAMC is located in Madison, making these totes a valuable resource for families facing an unexpected and often overwhelming situation.

The need for a NICU transfer can arise suddenly due to prematurity, medical complications, or other health concerns. Kayla and Jessica, founders of Wherever You May Romy, understand the emotional and logistical challenges parents face during this time. They started the organization in honor of their own babies, Romy and Jack, with the mission of offering support and comfort to families navigating the NICU experience.

Through the generosity of individual donors and community partners, Wherever You May Romy assembles and distributes thoughtfully curated Lands’ End totes. Each tote contains a plush blanket, a NICU journal to help parents process their thoughts and emotions, cell phone chargers, personal hygiene products, and other essential items that provide comfort and convenience for parents during their NICU stay.

In addition to supporting parents during their time in the NICU, Wherever You May Romy is dedicated to assisting families as they transition home, a period that can be both exciting and daunting.
