Meet Amanda McAfee: Bringing a Neighborly Touch to RAMC La Valle Clinic

Amanda McAfee

There is something special about healthcare in a small town. It’s about more than just appointments; it’s about having a provider who truly knows the community. That is exactly why we are so happy to have Amanda McAfee, APNP, FNP-BC, as part of our team at the RAMC La Valle Clinic.

Amanda is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Herzing University. While her clinical background is extensive, it’s her “first” career that often surprises people. Long before she was seeing patients in a clinic setting, Amanda was wearing heavy gear as a firefighter and EMT. Those years on the front lines are where she first fell in love with medicine, and that experience gave her a unique ability to stay calm and focused, no matter what an individual is facing.

When you sit down with Amanda for the first time, you’ll notice right away that she isn’t interested in rushing you out the door. She views her role as a partnership. She takes the time to dive deep into your medical history and current concerns, but she also wants to hear your personal preferences for care. For Amanda, the best part of the job is making those meaningful connections and helping people feel educated and empowered to make informed decisions about their own health.

She is particularly passionate about serving our rural community. She knows that having high-quality care close to home makes life easier for everyone, and she’s excited to be a familiar face for families in La Valle.

When she isn’t seeing patients at the RAMC La Valle Clinic, Amanda is likely taking advantage of everything the Wisconsin outdoors has to offer. She’s a big fan of hunting, fishing, hiking, and gardening with her family. She also stays incredibly active through weightlifting and CrossFit-style workouts—so if you’re looking for someone who “practices what they preach” regarding a healthy, active lifestyle, Amanda is it!

Whether you need a routine check-up or have a specific health goal in mind, Amanda is ready to help. She is currently seeing patients at the RAMC La Valle Clinic and would love to meet you.
