About Colleen Elliott-McCandless
Colleen FNP-BC is originally from Illinois in the Chicago area. She attended Illinois State University, where she double majored in biology and psychology. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in both and planned to attend medical school. Upon graduation, she worked as a medical technician in pediatrics, where she had close patient/family contact, which developed an interest in nursing.
Colleen went on to attend Mennonite College of Nursing, where she received her Bachelor of Science in nursing. She accepted a position in the Emergency Department at BroMenn Medical Center, where she worked for 16 years before she received her Master’s in Nursing at Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University.
Colleen has 27 years of experience in nursing and has practiced as a nurse practitioner for the past 11 years. She has worked predominantly in the Emergency Department, but has also worked in urgent care and as the rounding provider for skilled nursing facilities.
In her spare time, Colleen enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and three dogs. She also likes reading and outdoor activities.
