Women's Health
Obstetrics
Obstetrics is a specialized branch of medicine focused on the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. It involves monitoring the health and development of both mother and baby, ensuring safe delivery and addressing any complications that may arise.
Reedsburg Area Medical Center is proud to offer a team-based model for obstetrics delivery! This means our compassionate and skilled obstetrics team shares your birth plan to provide
personalized, top-notch care for the delivery of your baby!
You choose a primary OB provider who will be your main provider as you progress through your pregnancy. When you arrive to deliver your baby, the on-call member of the provider team will care for you. This provider will work with our Birth Center team to navigate your unique needs and provide safe and compassionate care.

Bone Density
Stomach ache. Sore throat. Rash. These are clear indications that you may have the flu, strep throat or poison ivy. Unfortunately, some health conditions don’t have such clear symptoms. Osteoporosis is one of them.
Osteoporosis means “porous bone,” and it’s the medical term for severely low bone mass. According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, one in two women over the age of 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis in their lifetime. Additionally, 54 million Americans have low or thinning bone mass—called osteopenia—a precursor to osteoporosis.
Talk to your provider to find out if they recommend a bone density screening.
