“I am honored to nominate Betsy Mihlbauer and Carmen Mihlbauer-Luther for a Going Beyond the Expected Award for their exceptional dedication and swift action that went above their professional duties. On Sunday, September 14th, Betsy and Carmen were watching Betsy’s son and his team play baseball in Mauston. It was the second game of the day for the team, and the temperatures were in the 80’s and it was hot! One of the players on the team became lightheaded and started not feeling well. The coach came over to let the player’s dad know that he likely had heat exhaustion. When Betsy and Carmen realized what was happening, they went into the dugout to assess the situation and made sure that the player had some Gatorade and stayed by his side to ensure his safe recovery prior to heading for home with his dad. Their clinical expertise and compassion was appreciated by the coaches, parents, and team members. We were very proud to call them “our teammates!”
